Week 3 CFB25 Preview: Eastern Michigan vs Liberty
Emu is coming off of a dominating performance against Temple last week putting up 45 points. Redshirt freshman Jace Stuckey passed for 255 yards and 2 touchdowns. A good chunk of those yards were gained by True freshman Doug Boyett whose speed totally torched the temple defense.
He put up a total of 125 yards for 2 touchdowns and right behind him in yardage was true freshman Jalen Westbrooks who’s a bit of a flex player coming on to campus immediately and making an impact with 83 yards.
Liberty is coming off of a nail biter victory against Georgia St. with liberty exploding in the 4th quarter and shutting out Georgia st in the second half. Liberty put up 27 pts in the second half comeback winning the game 41 to 35.
Georgia St.’s QB had a game putting up 394 yards and 4 touchdowns. Darius bush and DJ Riles had big games. Bush had 228 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns and riles having 100 yards himself and 1 touchdown.
But Liberty’s QB puts up 405 yards and 4 TDS with Julian gray getting 200 of his own yards and 3 tds himself. And a lot of even yard distribution from this team heaped keep them consistent and take advantage late in the game.
Now eastern michigans defense has not allowed a team to score anywhere close to what liberty did behind freshman field general Marvell Eggleston. This is going to be a true test for Liberty’s QB. Can the freshman duo Stuckey and Boyett put up the numbers to compete with this high scoring offense?
