Week 3 CFB25 Preview: Jacksonville State vs FCS Midwest
Jax State is coming off of a big win against Georgia Southern. After the poor showing in week 1 they bounced back with a win after giving the starting QB job to backup junior Bennett Meredith. He had a great game last week throwing for 3 touchdowns and 253 yards. The former started Zion Turner also put a touchdown on the stat sheet and played the entire second half after it was all said and done by half time. With such a week opponent coming into town is the QB battle still going?
Speaking to OC Logan Tyler and knowing how it feels to be a backup and winning the starting role as his last year in Jax St. he earned the starting job and took the team to its first 7 win season in a long time. He says that nothing is set in stone and that this is a perfect opportunity for both of them to compete.
What the team may do is have them split quarters. But while they want to make sure they are taking this game very seriously this is an opportunity for both QBs to get equal film and equal chances to prove who they will be going with in the upcoming year. Hopefully they figure out who they want to go with before conference play starts in the next 3 weeks.
If this team wants to have a chance at competing for a conference championship then they better figure out who their guy is going to be especially with promotion chances being on the line and this is a team that is built to get the opportunity to be promoted to a Division B school(we have a promotion and relegation league going on in my dynasty).
Receiving wise they didn’t have too many stand outs as the ball was spread around pretty evenly. One of the big reasons they were able to see so much success was because of redshirt freshman Justus Savage who ran for 99 yards and 1 touchdown.
We are expecting a big day in the air for this team but this team can also pound the ball as the team did rush for almost 200 yards collectively.
